Many business owners turn to either a template or software to assist them with creating a business plan, but where do you start?  How do you create a consistent and holistic plan from a template?  As a consultant I have seen many terrible business plans created this way.  Inconsistencies between plan elements are often immediately visible on a quick read of the document.

The most logical place to start business planning is by using a tried and tested business planning process.  This ensures that the resulting document structured and well reasoned.
